Cookbook launched
REGIONAL CUISINE
Islamabad: The second cook book by Zeenat Azra Khan, ‘A Rhapsody of Cuisine’ published by Paramount Books, was launched at the Islamabad Club and was attended by a fairly large audience of people interest in the subject, says a press release.
Her first cookbook, ‘From My Table to Yours’ was a compilation of international recipes she had collected from the wives of many ambassadors when she was abroad. It presented a panoramic view of the cuisine from five continents. This one is a compilation of regional specialties of Pakistan, some of them her own or family creations.
Sanya Muhammed, the author’s niece, acted as MC for the event and she introduced the author, after which her husband spoke about his ubiquitous role in the writing of the book. The author then gave some details about the book and its content and generously acknowledged her friends around the country who provided her some of the recipes.
Fauzia Memon, author of a book on healthy eating, also spoke about how Zeenat inspired her to write her own book, while expert Kaukab Khawja, the author of many well known cook books appreciated Zeenat's effort. Finally a frequent visitor to Zeenats house, Saima Khalid also gave her college days experiences with ‘Aunty Zeenat's’ cooked food.
