KP CM approves Zakori Flyover-II to connect Motorway to GT Road

Directs public sector employees to work honestly and ensure service while discharging official responsibilities

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has approved Zakori Flyover-II which will connect Motorway to the Grand Trunk Road at the Peshawar entrance, Warsak, Nasir Bagh and Pajaggi flyovers, Budhni Pull in Peshawar and Jawar Chowk Flyover and Katlang Flyover in Mardan.

According to an official handout, he was presiding over a meeting at the Chief Minister's Secretariat. Provincial Minister for Education and Energy Mohammad Atif Khan, Advisor to Chief Minister on Communication & Works Akbar Ayub, administrative secretaries, Peshawar Commissioner, representatives of the National Logistic Cell (NLC) and others were there as well.

The participants had a detailed deliberation on the development schemes which the provincial government was lunching through the NLC. They took a number of decisions. The chief minister ordered the fast track-completion of beautification plans of Peshawar, Mardan, Pabbi town in Nowshera and all districts.

He said he had approved Rs2.20 billion for the reconstruction of Peshawar city roads and pavement of streets in addition to the allocation for the beautification. The participants of the meeting were told that almost all the roads in university town and Hayatabad had already been completed.

The chief minister directed to start the process of beautification on the railway track in the University Town. The chief minister ordered accelerated work on the relocation of utilities and other services under the Rapid Bus Transit Project.

He said the project would see the light of the days with an allocation of Rs 40 billion and would give one solution to all the traffic congestions in Peshawar city. It would be completed within eight months.

Meanwhile, the chief minister called upon the public sector employees to work honestly and ensure service while discharging official responsibilities. He was talking to the newly elected office-bearers of Swat Paramedical Association at the Chief Minister's Secretariat. The office-bearers of the association were also sworn on the occasion.
