Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera, has said that search, sweep and combing operations should further be expedited and RPOs and DPOs should ensure that combing operations are being conducted on daily basis in supervision of DPOs, SPs and circle officers in sensitive areas of their respective districts so that terrorists and their facilitators could be surrounded.

The IGP stated this while chairing a video-link RPOs and DPOs conference held at Central Police Office on Tuesday.

He said that all the departments concerned should be consulted while finalising security plan for PSL final. Search and combing operations in all districts across Punjab and especially in Lahore should be given utmost attention, he added. He directed that all available resources must be utilised to provide foolproof security to the educational institutes, particularly the co-education ones, markets, parks, hospitals, courts and all other important installations. He also said that search and combing operations should be conducted around Qaddafi Stadium and in suburbs of Lahore on daily basis but this should not create problems for citizens.

The IGP said that security of the mosques, Imambargahs and worship places of minorities should be focused in particular throughout the province. He directed the officers to ensure installation of CCTV cameras, construction of boundary wall and vantage point in educational institutes, worship places and other important installations. While directing CCPO Lahore and other officers, the IGP said, "Every one of us should fulfill our duty with spirit of jihad to maintain peaceful environment in the City during PSL final."
