Surgery of minor girl proves successful

On the directions of Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif successful implant surgery of six-year-old hearing and speech impaired child, Nida Khan, was carried out at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Hospital on Thursday.

The surgery was carried out by a team of doctors, headed by Head of E&T Department of CDA Hospital Dr. Ghulam Saqlain, Dr. Jawad Ahmed and other doctors of the department.

Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz visited Capital Hospital and inquired about the health of the child and details of the operation.

Sheikh Anser Aziz was apprised that few months ago Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Nawaz Shrif during his visit to a school of Islamabad noticed condition of the child and took special interest in her treatment. He was informed that the child is hearing and speech impaired.

Prime Minister of Pakistan directed to carry out treatment of the child on immediate basis. On the directions of the prime minister of Pakistan, the CDA chairman made comprehensive arrangements for performing in plant surgery of the child at CDA Hospital. All expenditures would be incurred by the Prime Minister office.

Appreciating the expertise of doctors for performing successful implant surgery Sheikh Anser Aziz said that it is a matter of honour for CDA that this latest technology is only available at Capital Hospital and people are getting benefit from this facility.  He was apprised that different successful operations of such natures have been carried out at the CDA Hospital and due to latest technology and professional expertise of the doctors many hearing and speech impaired patients have been cured.
