There has been a great deal of confusion regarding the date of opening of schools. Winter vacations, which would have ended on December 31, have been extended to January 12 on security grounds. Now, rumour has it that universities, especially in Islamabad, will remain closed till the end of January.
The HEC has yet to make a categorical statement in this regard while the universities, when contacted, are also not forthcoming regarding the start of the new academic session. The concerned authorities are requested to make a clear announcement so that students can manage their academic tasks in time.
