CHARSADDA: The district administration on Friday imposed Section 144 in view of the anti-polio campaign which would kick off on Monday.A notification issued from the deputy commissioner’s office stated that display of weapons, pillion-riding and vehicles with tinted glasses would be banned from December 19 to 23.
JI office-bearer takes oath

BARA: The newly elected chief of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) for Khyber Agency took oath of his office here on Friday.Provincial chief Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Mushtaq Ahmad Khan administered oath to Shah Faisal Afridi at a gathering here.Speaking on the occasion, Mushtaq Ahmad said that his party was committed to fighting corruption. “At least 600 persons including political leaders and bureaucrats were involved in the PanamaLeaks and corruption cases. But there was not a single corruption case against JI leaders,” he told the meeting.He said the tribal people had rendered matchless sacrifices for the country. “The Fata reforms should be in accordance with the wishes of the tribal people,” he added.

LAKKI MARWAT: Asghar Khan Marwat, Director Electrical, Peshawar Development Authority (PDA), who died of cardiac arrest, was laid to rest at Adamzai village on Friday.His funeral prayer was offered at his native Adamzai village. A large number of people attended his funeral.His qul will be held at Mohalla Khwaidadkhel, Lakki city, tomorrow (Sunday).
