Climate change

By our correspondents
December 09, 2016

The effects of climate change are now quite apparent in the country. Climate change has given rise to irregular rains, smog and turbulent temperature. These have adversely affected the health and crops of the country. Smoke erupting from brick kilns and vehicles is the major cause of the air getting polluted with some toxic gases like nitrous oxide, carbon mono oxide, debris of sulphur oxides etc. These gases, after intermingling with the outer atmosphere, cause severe lungs and eyes’ problems. It also results in thunderous and acidic rains which sweep away crops especially during sowing and cultivation seasons.

The government should look into the matter and adopt some strategies in order to mitigate climate change .It should also seek help from environmental and agricultural expertise in this regard. On our part, we can fight the impacts of climate change by growing more trees. We should use environment-friendly gases in vehicles. The industrial sector should filter chimneys over brick kilns to halt toxic gases from mixing into the atmosphere.
