Most recently, the government approved a 150 percent increase in the salaries of parliamentarians. The members of parliament already enjoy numerous perks given to them by the government. This step will further uplift their standard of living, but what about those impoverished citizens of the country who are living below the poverty line? Has the government taken any step for those people?
No major development has taken place in the country in recent years. The government should be looking into these matters. It is high time the government done something productive for the entire country. It is the responsibility of the government to think about the people living under the poverty line.
