A mature party?

By our correspondents
December 04, 2016

This refers to the article, ‘The party’s not yet over’ (Dec 1) by Imtiaz Alam. The comprehensive and thought provoking article was in fact a few tips for the guidance of the PPP; especially for Bilawal, who is politically immature. He adopts the style of ZAB, without having the same experience and the hard work required for matching the calibre of senior Bhutto’s leadership.

The PPP is in disarray since the dedicated workers like Naheed Khan have started leaving the party. The government of the PPP – formed after the assassination of Benazir Bhutto – did nothing for the common man and the middle class. The compromises made by Asif Ali Zardari with the Sharifs only saved him from accountability. So, Bilawal doesn’t only have to be political mature but he ought to distance himself from corrupt elements in his party for a long-term success. The prime reason behind Imran Khan’s immense popularity among educated youth is that neither the PPP nor the PML-N has done anything for the common man.
