KARACHI: Meezan Bank, Pakistan’s first and largest Islamic bank and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Pakistan (CIMA) jointly organised a workshop on “Shariah Audit Framework for Islamic Financial Institutions (IFIs)”, a statement said on Monday.
The objective of the workshop was to educate the participants about the changes in Shariah governance policies issued by the State Bank of Pakistan that would be in effect from January 2015, it said.
Conducted by experienced Islamic banking practitioners Ahmed Ali Siddiqui, Farhan Ul Haq Usmani and Shaikh Muhammad Asif, the workshop provided the participants with comprehensive and practical knowledge on Shariah compliance review, audit and governance for IFIs, it said.
The programme was part of a series of learning initiatives that would pave the way forward for the professional development of Islamic banking human resources, it added.
