RLNG-based IPP accepting bids till December 5
ISLAMABAD: The Private Power and Infrastructure Board (PPIB) has announced that the last date to submit bids for its RLNG-based IPP of 1,200MW was December 5, 2016 by 1500 hours.
PPIB has already initiated process and invited bids through international competitive bidding for the installation of combined-cycle power plant of 1,200MW to address the power shortfall challenges, a statement issued Monday said.
The project, located near the existing Muzaffargarh Thermal Power Station of NPGCL with gas turbine-based combined-cycle technology, would help reduce load shedding by adding affordable energy to the national grid by 2018.
The power plant would have minimum annual availability of 92 percent. Open cycle operation has been scheduled to start by February 2018 whereas the full combined-cycle operation would begin by end 2018.
Furthermore, due to the highly efficient and state of the art technology of the plant this would be able to replace old and retiring power plants in the public sector.
