UHS board considers thesis reports

The 119th meeting of Advanced Studies and Research Board of the University of Health Sciences (UHS) was held on Thursday with Vice Chancellor Prof Muhammad Aslam in the chair. 

The board considered the thesis reports of Ghazala Rubi PhD (Human Genetics & Molecular Biology), Dr Aftab Alam Tanoli MPhil (Forensic Medicine), Dr Fahad Kamal Akhtar MS (Ophthalmology), Dr Afsheen Ijaz MPhil (Microbiology), Dr Anjum Zahin MD (Cardiology), Dr Ahmad Shamim MDS (Orthodontics) and Dr Muhammad Azeem Mughal MS (Urology). 

The following synopses were also considered for registration of students in various postgraduate courses: “Chromosomal aberrations in children with congenital hydrocephalus” by Dr Rahat Bano Siddiqui MPhil (Anatomy), “Changes in Sonic hedgehog signaling (Shh) with teratogenic doses of retinoic acid in the developing rat tissue” by Dr Noor ul Huda MPhil (Oral Biology), “Post surgical mandibular defect rehabilitation with immediate dental implants, with and without platelet rich plasma autograft” by Dr Muhammad Ali Malik MDS. (Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery), “Performance of paediatric’s residents as clinical teachers; Final year MBBS students’ perspective by using augmented standard faculty development questionnaire” by Dr Muhammad Faheem Afzal MHPE, “The consequences of social media usage on social and academic life of dental students” by Dr Malik Ali Hassan Sajid MHPE, “Serum uric acid and homocysteine levels in preeclamptic and normal pregnancy” by Dr Mudasar Zia MPhil (Biochemistry), “Relationship of heart rate variability and pulmonary function tests in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease” by Dr Baseera Imran MPhil (Physiology), “Effect of Tribulus terrestris (puncture vine) dried fruit powder on drug-induced nephrotoxicity in rats” by Dr Sana Nisar Zaidi MPhil (Pharmacology), “Frequency and antimicrobial susceptibility profile of microorganisms isolated from ventilator associated pneumonia patients of Southern Punjab Pakistan” by Dr Umar Khalid Cheema MPhil (Microbiology) and others.
