Record maintenance work at LDA
LAHORE
Special exercise for management of record continued for the third consecutive day even on Sunday at LDA complex. Cleanliness and maintenance of record rooms in two blocks of the LDA office were carried out.
LDA Director General supervised the task by visiting different parts of the office. He was accompanied by Additional Director General (HQ) Samia Saleem.
The DG urged the relevant officers for taking all possible measures for safety, security and easy as well as instantaneous availability of property files. He asked for keeping property files of every housing scheme separately, placing them in a sequential order, making detailed inventories and giving access to these files to only designated officials.
The DG ordered for shifting all cabinets of property files to the central record room from various parts of the office. He directed for installation of security cameras, exhaust fans, cooling system and new electrical wiring in the central record room.
It is pertinent to note that taking notice of public complaints regarding unavailability of certain property files about three days ago, the LDA had ordered for carrying out a special record management exercise for keeping all property files in a regular manner to avoid public inconvenience. The One Window Cell of Lahore Development Authority and other offices remained closed for public dealing for two days for this purpose so that the staff could dedicatedly work for this assignment.
The routine functioning of the LDA’s One Window Cell will resume today (Monday, the 31st of October 2016) and it will receive public applications from 8am to 1pm. However, there will be no public dealing by other offices of LDA till further orders.
