The PTI has announced that it will not leave the capital until the prime minister resigns. In addition to the PAT, there are rumours that the PTI may receive support from two new groups, the Lal Masjid Shuhada Foundation and the Sunni Ittehad Council. The PPP is also all geared up to jump into the bandwagon at any time. However, the important question is: will the PTI and its allies succeed in winning its war against corruption? Dislodging an elected government will certainly not bring an end to corruption. It may bring an end to the rule of a particular political party but not an end to the problem of corruption.
Corruption must end – there are no second thoughts about it. But an end to this problem must be brought by bringing institutional changes and strengthening the justice system of the country.
