ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will geo tag all polling stations across the country by April next year. Addressing a two days training session on technological development in the electoral process the Secretary Election Commission Babar Yaqoob Fateh Muhammad said best possible efforts were being put in place to ensure transparency in elections through advanced technology. In its efforts towards this end the ECP has developed two softwares of Geographic Information System and Result Management System.
The Geographic Information System will provide online authenticated map of all polling stations in the country which will help eliminate the practice of ghost polling stations that mar the transparency of the system.
The Result Management System will provide authentic results effectively compiled and uploaded by the respective returning officers of the particular area. The ECP has organised a series of training to enable its officers make the best use of technical developments.
