‘Begum Nusrat Bhutto a symbol of democracy’

Remembering Begum Nusrat Bhutto on her fifth death anniversary, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Sunday said she was a symbol of democracy and her sacrifices held such significance that they would always be spoken of in golden words.

Speaking to journalists at a condolence meeting held, at the Bilawal House, to observe Begum Nusrat’s death anniversary Murad said she was a true leader and faced a dictator with exceptional bravery and courage. The CM also paid homage to the Bhutto family for their sacrifices rendered for democracy to prevail in the country.

Moula Bux Chandio, advisor to the CM on information, while paying tribute to Begum Nusrat said the valiant fight against the most horrible dictatorship, her sacrifices for democracy and going to prison for that would always be borne in mind by the people of this nation.

He further observed that after the martyrdom of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, it was Begum Nusrat who motivated people to stand for restoration of democracy. “Even during those hard times did never gave way to pessimism and fought back strongly.She may not be in this world anymore, but her role for democracy cannot be forgotten by the people of Pakistan. She will always dwell in the hearts of the masses, Chandio added.
