The literacy rate is one of the most important indicators of education. According to the latest Pakistan Social and Living Standards Measurement (PSLM) survey, the literacy rates of men and women in 2015 were 70 and 49 percent respectively.
Pakistan’s Vision 2025 aims at expansion and improvement in the quality of education, increasing public expenditures to 4.0 percent of the GDP by 2018. The 11th five year plan (2013-2018) is aimed to enhance management and administrative capacities in education sector at all levels.
