Ajoka play premiered
LAHORE
Ajoka Theatre organised two-day premiere of Talismati Tota (Magical Parrot) written by Shahid Nadeem and directed by Nirvaan Nadeem at 7pm in the Alhamra Hall.
This play is written in the style of a traditional Dastan. It is a story of three princes and a princess in disguise who embark on a journey to the forest of wonder in search of a magical parrot.
The journey is full of adventures and dangerous encounters with supernatural creatures, thugs, magicians, fairies and demons, witches and a magical parrot who was supposed to be repeating what he was taught but eventually became the master.
It is a story of betrayal, intrigue and mind control. They finally reach their destination but instead of capturing the parrot, they themselves fall prey to the crafty parrot. The story is allegorical in form but reflects many of our contemporary concerns.
