CHITRAL: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader and Federal Minister for Housing Akram Khan Durrani on Sunday said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would make Pakistan an economically strong country.

Speaking at a public meeting at the Polo Ground here, he said that CPEC would provide job opportunities to thousands of Pakistanis and boost the economy of the country.

“Enemies know the importance of the projects for Pakistan’s economy that is why they are creating war-like situation in the region,” he added.

The minister said some parties in Pakistan were also helping the enemies by spreading propaganda against the project.

He said that Jewish lobbies had destroyed Afghanistan after the 9/11 attacks. “And now they were making plans to target Saudi Arabia,” he added.

He urged the Muslims to forge unity to foil the nefarious designs of the enemies of Islam.

The JUI-F leader said that the proponents of change failed to bring about even a modest change in governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa let alone changing the system.

He said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders should stop befooling the people of the province as they lack the capability to run the province in an effective manner.”They are working on a western agenda to promote vulgarity,” he alleged.

He said that PC-I had been completed for launching a housing scheme in Chitral.

The federal minister said the strength of the Levies Force would be increased to protect the long border of the district.

Speaking on the occasion, the provincial head of JUI-F, Maulana Naseeb Gul, hoped that the people would elect honest leadership in the upcoming general elections.

“Our agenda is development of the country and implementation of Islamic system through a peaceful struggle,” he said, and urged the people to reject those promoting western agenda. A former senator Maulana Rahat Hussain also spoke on the occasion.
