Urs of Hazrat Sultan Bahu begins

JHANG: Urs of Hazrat Sultan Bahu began at Garh Maharaja on Tuesday.
Ghusal of the shrine was conducted under the supervision of Sajjada Nasheen Muhammad Najeeb Sultan. The followers and devotees have started arriving to attend the Urs.
Before reaching Garh Maharaja, the devotees of Hazrat Sultan Bahu visit the shrine of his father and mother in Shorkot City. Sultan Bahu (ca 1628-1691) belonged to the Sufi order known as Qadri. Like many other Sufis of South Asia, Sultan Bahu was a prolific writer with more than 40 books on Sufism attributed to him. Most of his books are in Persian. His Punjabi poetry is sung in many genres of Sufi music, including Qawwali and Kafi.
Meanwhile, police have made strict security arrangements to avoid any untoward incident during the Urs.
