Baba Farid Urs continues
PAKPATTAN: The Bahishti Darwaza was opened at the shrine of Hazrat Baba Fariduddin Masood Ganj Shakar (RA) by Punjab Auqaf Secretary Nawazish Ali on the fourth day here on Monday.
Sajjada Nasheen of Baba Farid shrine Dewan Madood Masood Chishti, religious leaders, Sajjada Nasheens of others shrines, DCO Irfan Ahmad, DPO Kamran Yousaf, ADC Arif Umar Aziz, AC Ashfaq Ahmad and thousands of devotees from various parts of the country and abroad including USA, Canada, Australia, India, Bangladesh and UK were present on the occasion.
It is likely that 70,000 devotees would pass through the Bahishti Darwaza daily during the Urs celebrations. Sajjada Nasheen Dewan Madood Masood Chishti also distributed Langer among the devotees.
The Auqaf Department and the district administration had made arrangements for the Urs and the devotees while police had also adopted strict security arrangements on the occasion. The administration has installed CCTV cameras and walk through gates to avoid any untoward incident during the Urs celebrations. Meanwhile, Punjab Auqaf Minister Mian Ata Muhammad Maneka said that strict security measures were being taken under the National Action Plan to avoid any terrorist attack.
He said that police and other security agencies were taking action jointly for the safety of the people. He also lauded the security arrangements adopted at the shrine of Hazrat Baba Fariduddin Masood Ganj Shakar (RA).
