Floppy’s phonics workshop at RIS

Roots Academy for Professional and Intellectual Development (RAPID) organised a workshop on Floppy’s Phonics in Collaboration with Oxford University Press as a part of Teachers Continuous Professional Development programme, says a press release. More than 50 teachers of Montessori and Junior schools from Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Wah Region participated in it.

The workshop was organized by keeping in view latest research results, there is a direct correlation between a child developing strong phonemic awareness skills and becoming a highly successful reader. Workshop enabled teachers to understand the progressing levels of phonemic awareness instruction.

 Sessions conducted by Azka Khan (Master trainer OUP) were highly interactive which enhanced teachers’ depth-of-knowledge about essential reading-readiness skills of critical importance as well as multisensory activities to engage young children to hear sounds and patterns in words.
