Geelani, Mirwaiz blast Indian war hysteria

ISLAMABAD: The Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has condemned recent Indian military aggression on Line of Control, terming it a ploy to divert attention from the atrocities of Indian armed forces in held Kashmir.

According to KMS, the Hurriyat forum spokesman in a statement in Srinagar said unprovoked firing on the LoC has only worsened the situation. There seems to be a sustained campaign both on part of Indian armed forces and Indian media to divert the narrative by creating war frenzy on the LoC to cover grave atrocities committed by Indian forces in Kashmir.

While the world community is taking note of happenings in Kashmir censuring the Indian state for human rights violations and using repressive force to crush freedom struggle in Kashmir the Indian aggression on the borders is a clear indication that it wants to put a cover on the atrocities and excesses in Kashmir, the spokesperson said.

He deplored that such diversionary tactics were being used just to divert the focus from the current Kashmir uprising Instead of blowing the war bugle, the government of India and the Indian media should introspect and discuss as to why the situation in Kashmir has turned so bloody and look at ways and means of resolving the problem rather than turning a blind eye to the real issue and heating up the borders to shift focus.

The spokesman reiterated that Kashmir was a recognized dispute which needed serious dialogue among three stakeholders to hammer out solution in accordance with the wishes of the people and that is the only guarantee of peace in the region. He expressed grief over the death of another pellet victim youth Muzaffar Ahmad of Chek Kawoosa Narbal in Badgam.

Meanwhile, All Parties Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani has said escalating the intensity of war hysteria in Indian population has forced Indian political and armed elite to stage manage surgical strikes to teach Pakistan a lesson. Geelani in a statement said by doing so a lid has been put to the roaring voices of revenge and sarcastic reverberation of inaction euphoriazing the whole nation into the jubilations and celebrations across the spectrum from a common man to the intellect class especially brokered media houses and their fascist and fanatic anchors.

Geelani said believing the Indian media and army they have not targeted Pakistan army installations or personnel rather have struck at the camp of terrorists and killed them. There is nothing new and extraordinary as Indian army has been doing so for the last 27 years. Geelani said only factor to ignite this human disaster is none other than unresolved and unsettled issue of Kashmir.

 He said the forces and brains responsible for this unbearable loss to the humanity is Indian stubbornness veil for oppressor. Geelani said barbaric conduct by oppressor is expected but more lethal and deadly weaponry used by the collaborators and stooges of this oppression is more worrisome.
