BATTAGRAM: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Wednesday said that right to self-determination was the legitimate right of the people of Indian-held Kashmir.

Speaking to a public meeting here, Fazlur Rehman, who is also chairman of the special committee of the Parliament on Kashmir, blasted the international community for its silence over the atrocities of the Indian forces in occupied Kashmir. “India cannot suppress the Kashmiri people through the use force and committing brutalities there,” he added.

The Maulana alleged that the United States had imposed the so-called war on terror on Pakistan. “The US destroyed the peace of the region as thousands of innocent people have been killed in Pakistan and Afghanistan,” he said, adding, “Only the US and its allies benefited from the so-called war on terror.”

The JUI-F chief declared the US as an untrustworthy ally. He said that the US monopoly over the world was diminishing and it was losing its grip on the world dominance. He said that the US and its puppets were trying to impose a secular system in Pakistan. “But we would not let them succeed in their nefarious designs,” he added.

He said that the JUI-F would not allow enacting of laws against the principles of Islam.

Federal Minister for Housing and Works Akram Durrani criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, saying the harbingers of change had failed to bring about any change and provide relief to the people.

He said that the politics of sit-ins was damaging the economy of the country and serving the interest of the enemies of Pakistan.  Durrani announced construction of a 250 beds hospital in Battagram.
