DIR: Tehsil Nazim Mir Makhzanuddin-led tehsil municipal administration employees to repair a water supply channel on the first day of Eidul Azha and restored water supply to Dir city, the district headquarters of Upper Dir.
More than 80 per cent of population of Dir town was deprived of water when the main water channel got damaged amid heavy rains on the night before Eidul Azha in Qashqary area about 10 kilometres from Dir city. Tehsil Nazim Mir Makhzanudin, Tehsil Municipal Officer, Badshah Zada, inspector water supply Intikhab Alam and other staff reached the site after receiving the complaints.
The tehsil nazim told this correspondent by phone that he left his sacrifice of cattle and went along with TMO, inspector water supply and other staff to Qashqary and got the damaged water channel repaired.The tehsil nazim had already cancelled Eid vacations of the TMA employees and directed them to perform duty during Eid days to provide municipal services to people.
