Kidnap, abuse cases registered after delay

LAHORE

Three people, including a student of mechanical engineering, were kidnapped and two children abused from August 22 to September 5, 2016, but the Lahore police registered cases of all the incidents on Sept 8.

A 23-year-old student of mechanical engineering was kidnapped by some unidentified persons.

The student was identified as Umar, son of Arshad of Goshi Park, Shadbagh. According to Arshad, his son had left home on August 30, 2016, for university but he did not turn up.

Police registered a case on the complaint of the victim’s father on Sept 8.

A 22-year-old youth was kidnapped by some unidentified kidnappers in the Green Town area.

He was identified as Ghulam Mushtaba, son of Ashraf of D/2 Green Town. According to Ashraf, his son had left his house on August 22, 2016 and did not return. Police registered a case on the complaint of the victim’s father on Sept 8.

A married man was kidnapped by some unidentified persons in the jurisdiction of Baghbanpura police. He was identified as Faiz Ahmad of Ghani di Bombi, Mahmood Booti.

According to his wife Sidra, he had left his house along with one Sadiqi on August 14, 2016 and did not turn up. Police registered a case on the complaint of Sidra on Sept 8.

A 13-year-old boy was kidnapped and abused in the Mughalpura police area. The victim was identified as Ali Haider, son of Naseem of Mughalpura.

According to Naseem, his son was on his way to Altaf Colony on Sept 2, 2016, when accused Rafique kidnapped him in a rickshaw and took him to his house.

The accused kept the boy in confinement for three days and abused him. Police registered a case against the accused under Sections 337, 342 and 511 PPC on Sept 8.

An eight-year-old boy was allegedly abused by his teacher in the limits of Factory Area police. The victim was identified as Rizwan, son of Ramazan.

According to the victim’s father, his son was memorising the holy Quran at Madarassa Islamia-tul-Iqra al-Quran School System, Walton Road and lived there.

On Sept 5, Assadullah, a teacher, forcibly took him to his room at 2am and abused him. Police registered a case against the accused teacher on Sept 8.
