SWABI: Over 60 students of the Karnal Sher Khan Cadet College Swabi, who were ill with food poisoning, were still under treatment while the remaining ones were discharged from hospitals after treatment, sources said on Monday.
They said that some 181 students suffered from food poisoning after having samosas and pakoras in the college. The students also had biryani and afterwards begun vomiting and experienced severe burning pain in the abdomens.
The students were immediately taken to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Mardan and the Medical Complex Mardan. Ambulance from the hospitals in Swabi transported the ill students.
District Health Officer Dr Niaz Muhammad told this correspondent that 13 ambulances from various hospitals and over a dozen doctors were sent to the college to treat the students.“The doctors are still at the college to provide treatment to the students. They are now stable and out of danger,” he said.
