Two militants arrested, suicide vests recovered in Charsadda
CHARSADDA: The police arrested two alleged militants and recovered two suicide vests and as many hand grenades from them in Shabqadar on Thursday, an official said.
District Police Officer (DPO) Sohail Khalid told the reporters that the police arrested the two militant during a checking at a checkpoint in Shabqadar tehsil.He said that the militants were riding a bike and were trying to enter Charsadda from Mohmand Agency. He identified the arrested alleged militants as Qasim aka Ali and Waheed Gul. He said both the militants were residents of Abbottabad.
The official added that the police recovered two suicide jackets as many hand-grenades and two pistols from them.He said the militants were planning a sabotage act in Charsadda. He claimed that the arrested militants have revealed in the preliminary investigation that they had collected Rs7.7million extortion for a banned militant outfit as well.He said the arrested militants were handed over to the Counter-Terrorism Department for further interrogation.
