College teachers’ attendance to be made sure, says minister

PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information & Higher Education Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani Tuesday said that biometric attendance system has been installed in 24 public sector colleges in the province to ensure the attendance of teachers.

He said this while inaugurating bometric attendance system at Government College Peshawar by imprinting thumb impression on the machine.Addressing the function, Mushtaq Ghani revealed that 215 students of government colleges got top positions in eight boards of the province, terming it the results of government reforms initiative in education sector.

He said the biometric system was being installed in all educational institutions because the teachers used to skip classes in the past.Mushtaq Ghani said the government had given top priority to education sector after coming to power and imposed emergency in education sector.The function was attended by Secretary Higher Education Department Faheem Wazir, Principle Government College Peshawar, Fazle Subhani, staff members and students of the college.
