Steps discussed to upgrade Ladies Club to national standard

PESHAWAR: Secretary Local Government Syed Jamaluddin Shah presided over the introductory meeting on the development of Ladies Club in University Town.

The meeting, arranged in his office, was attended by Deputy Commissioner Riaz Khan Mahsud, Director General of Sports Tariq Muhammad, Local Council Board Secretary Syed Zafar Ali Shah, Deputy Secretary Administration Syed Rehman, Mian Muhammad Anis, Muqeem Khilji, Assad Durrani and the members of Ladies Club.

The participants reviewed the present structure of the Ladies Club. They discussed in details the upgrading of the club as per national standards.The members were asked to come up with more suggestions for the improvement of the environment of the club.

Suggestions were presented for the provision of security to the club and sports, park, water, clean atmosphere and other facilities. Different committees would be constituted, as announced earlier, for running the club affairs. This would be done in the next meeting, said an official communiqué.

The Local Government secretary said the strategy would be evolved for the procedure of affiliation of the Ladies Club with other clubs of the country. The membership process would be made easy. He said the Local Government Department would take solid steps to provide better facilities to the club. The Local Government secretary directed the Sports Department to provide sports equipment and ensure early completion of the Squash Court and jogging track in the club.
