The Congo virus is a widespread viral disease that is commonly spread by ticks found on hairy animals. Keeping in view the recent cases of Congo fever in parts of Pakistan, the campaign in schools for creating awareness regarding the Congo virus on the pattern of dengue deserves appreciation as the move will help prevent the spread of disease.
However, following the number of deaths in the country due to the Congo virus, the government must pay extra attention to deal with any unfortunate incidence as cattle markets are being set up across the country for Eidul Azha. Moreover, the need of the hour is to implement standard infection control precautions and to take special preventive measures to avoid contracting the virus.
