SUKKUR: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said whatever efforts Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran might make, the people had rejected him.
He expressed these views while addressing the PPP legislators and office-bearers of the districts Sukkur, Khairpur and Ghotki at the Naudero House in Larkana on Thursday.
Briefing journalists on the meeting, Sindh Information Minister Nisar Khuhro said that Bilawal had already held a meeting with the party representatives of Punjab and KP. Bilawal Bhutto said that other political parties had failed to digest the popularity of the PPP because it had roots among the masses.
He said that either in rule or out of rule, the leadership of the party had been serving the masses. He said that attacks were being carried out on the party leadership in an organised way but the leadership, ignoring such attacks, focused on the continuity of democracy.
He said that political struggle would be continued till the last drop of blood.
To a question, Nisar Khuhro said the government made institutions which were discharging their duties for the welfare of masses. However, he said that Rangers was for the assistance of the civilian government.
He said the PPP and other political parties despite reservations still supported the Karachi operation. He said the PPP did not oppose action against corruption, but had some reservations over the NAB and FIA’s actions.
He said the PPP was not trying to avoid the the local bodies’ elections and added that the party would contest the elections. He wondered why the NAB was not taking action against the PML-N’s sitting minister who had admitted in court to his involvement in money laundering.
