Slain Baz Kakar used to take high-profile cases
QUETTA: Known lawyer Baz Muhammad Kakar, martyred in Quetta blast, was a lawyer for the Baloch militants and BNP’s Khalid Langu. He had got a BLA commander Ghafar Langu acquitted.
He was one of the senior lawyers of the province. His brother Prof Dr Laal Muhammad Kakar is a known orthopaedic doctor in Quetta. He was born in Muslim Bagh in 1971. He did his LLB from the Balochistan University and was involved in student politics.
He had been the president of Balochistan Bar Association. He was a presidential candidate for the upcoming Balochistan High Court Bar Association elections, scheduled for August 13. He was jailed during the lawyers’ movement. He had six brothers and two sisters. He is survived by a widow and a son Areen Khan Kakar, 7.
