ISLAMABAD: Justice (retd) Wajihuddin Ahmad is set to address a press conference in Lahore on August 14 along with many other PTI leaders to announce a mass-contact movement and a future strategy to restore the PTI’s image.
Talking to The News, Justice Wajih (whose PTI membership has been suspended by Imran Khan) said that he was planning to start a movement to get justice for those PTI leaders and workers who were facing injustices within the party since long. “I am going to start a struggle for the independence of the PTI on the Independence Day,” he said.
Wajih told The News that he would elaborate a comprehensive strategy to bring reforms in the PTI so a clean image of the party could be restored. He said the strategy that will be announced on August 14 would also include points through which all the wrongdoing and mistakes committed by the party leadership in the past could be reversed.
Justice Wajih said that all the like-minded PTI leaders would join him for the much needed reforms within the PTI. He said he has opted to address this press conference on August 14 so that the PTI leaders and workers could also enjoy and celebrate ‘independence’ along with the rest of Pakistani nation. Justice Wajih said that he would do his best to bring the PTI back to its original manifesto and objectives.
A large number of PTI workers and leaders have questioned the credibility of the party and its leadership. However, humiliation of a leader like Justice Wajihuddin provided a rallying point to sincere party workers and leaders, mostly old guard, who want to get rid of fake leaders and raise their voice for restoring the party image.
All these leaders including some sitting parliamentarians, founding members of PTI, office bearers, former party ticket holders and representatives from different districts including Peshawar, Okara, Mianwali, Mardan and many other districts of KPK and Punjab gathered in Islamabad on Tuesday evening and decided to confront the ‘fake leaders’ currently dominating PTI and tell the nation the whole truth about them.
They decided that the chief of the new faction within the PTI, Justice Wajihuddin, would visit all districts to unite the real PTI workers and to motivate them to become active again to save the party.
It was decided that Justice Wajih wuld announce a comprehensive agenda before the people of Pakistan on August 14 in Lahore, the city where the PTI was founded 19 years ago.
