PTI needs to accept system: PM
Urges JUI-F, MQM to withdraw resolutions to de-seat PTI MNAs

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday asked the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to accept the system and also urged the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) to withdraw their resolutions seeking the disqualification of PTI MNAs. The PM made these remarks while chairing a meeting with parliamentary party leaders at the Prime Minister House.
The meeting took stock of the verdict of the judicial commission probing the May 2013 polls and discussed the private resolutions sponsored by the JUI-F and MQM in the National Assembly to de-seat the PTI members for staying absent for 40 consecutive days during the sit-in. The prime minister thanked the parliamentary leadership of the country for
showing resolve and remaining steadfast for the supremacy of the Constitution and democracy. He said that the nation has moved forward in its democratic journey and the unity of the political leadership to safeguard the national interest will be a significant factor in the evolution of the political process. He said that the political leadership of the country has great responsibility to work for the collective good of the country while pursuing their respective party policies.
The parliamentary heads congratulated the prime minister for showing political magnanimity after the release of the report of the inquiry commission and termed the findings of the inquiry commission a success of the democratic process.
The premier said that after the report of the inquiry commission, the government is fully focusing on the development and prosperity of the country and is committed to resolving the problems of people.
He hoped that the national political leadership would leave behind the bitter experiences of the past and embark on a new beginning with the passion of strengthening democracy.The leaders of the JUI-F and MQM in their response apprised the prime minister that they will come back after consultations with their party leadership and will communicate their parties’ policy about the motions against the PTI.
Nawaz Sharif also constituted a four-member committee comprising Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique and the SAPM on National Affairs Irfan Siddiqui over the matter. He directed the committee to convince the leadership of the JUI-F and MQM to withdraw their motions against the PTI MNAs.
Ishaq Dar, Khawaja Asif, Pervaiz Rashid, Saad Rafique, Anusha Rehman, Irfan Siddiqui and Asif Kirmani attended the meeting from the government side. Parliamentary heads and representatives of political parties included Leader of the Opposition Syed Khursheed Shah, Fazlur Rehman, Amir JI Senator Sirajul Haq, MQM’s Abdul Rashid Godil, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Kanwar Navid Jamil, PML-Q Senator Mushahid Hussain, ANP’s Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, PML-Z leader Ijazul Haq, Fata’s Ghazi Gulab Jamal, PkMAP’s Mehmood Khan Achackzai and Ghous Buksh Mehr of the PML-F.
