The third day of the Young Leaders Conference (YLC) remained focused on hepatitis-related prevention methods as the participants were engaged in an awareness session on symptoms, preventive and curative measures for hepatitis, according to a press release issued on Thursday.

To mark World Hepatitis Day, representatives from the Hilton Pharma arranged different activities to inform the audience about complications of the deadly viral infection.

A “Hepatitis Walk” was also arranged in which participants designed and displayed their own posters to combat against the hepatitis-related diseases.

Led by famous public speaker and CEO School of Leadership Umair Jaliawala, the third day of the YLC was titled ‘Boulevard- Emerging Markets’.

The programme for the day was also designed to help participants discover where their talents could best be employed, and the world of opportunities where they can invest their energies.

Supported by founding partner the English Biscuit Manufacturers (EBM), an organisation with a history of working with conviction for the cause of youth empowerment, each year YLC opens its doors to 300 youngsters between the ages of 18 to 24 from all over Pakistan.

Participants and programme segments have also been sponsored by Thal Engineering Limited, U-Report, Unicef, Friedrich-Naumann-Stuftung, British Council and PPAF, working towards bringing diversity to the conference by taking up the responsibility of funding attendance costs for individuals from underprivileged backgrounds.

Entrepreneurship and initiatives were realms of the 21st century market which were spoken about at length during a session by Umair Jaliawala.

The purpose of the sessions was to create exposure about emerging opportunities, and to give the participants the realization that they can break away from traditional education and careers to explore newer avenues in the transforming global landscape.

Saba Gul, Anees Husain, Ali Ansari, Junaid Iqbal and Irfan Pardesi, all entrepreneurs with resounding success to their names, offered their take on where the best opportunities for millennials lie during “Café Opportunities”.

Kamran Rizvi took the stage with ‘The Legend Leads’, an EBM sponsored capacity building session, followed by a set of how-to workshops with experts from their respective fields, including digital entrepreneur and activist Faisal Kapadia and investment guru Mir Muhammad Ali Khan.

The Jang Media Group served as media partners to provide essential coverage for the event. The TCS served as a logistics partner, ensuring smooth- running and timely execution. The YLC vision of youth empowerment and leadership is shared by and reflected in the efforts of all partner organisations.

The Young Leaders Conference is a six-day residential conference, which will continue till July 31.

Earlier on its second day, the programme was themed ‘Sidewalk’ - Development Debate, with Shireen Naqvi, vibrant and vocal founder of School of Leadership (SoL). The second day of the conference began with a field visit to the inspirational Edhi Center.

On its first day, the 15th annual YLC had opened its doors at Dreamworld Resort, to enlighten 300 young men and women participating from all over Pakistan.
