CADD urged to resolve FDE daily wagers issue
Islamabad: The Public Accounts Committee has decided to remind the Capital Administration and Development Division to implement its directives for the regularisation of the Federal Directorate of Education daily-wage employees, mostly teachers, without delay.
The decision has been made by the Khursheed Ali Shah-led National Assembly panel in light of the delaying tactics used by the CADD to resolve the matter, insists a relevant official in the know.
The development comes amid reports that the prime minister’s office has been sitting on a CADD summary on the mechanism for the regularisation of the FDE daily wagers’ services. The summary is understood to have suggested the Federal Public Service Commission interview for the daily wagers working in BPS-16 and above and interview by a departmental committee for those working in BPS-15 and below. The employees passing the FPSC interview are to be offered permanent jobs on the basis of the ‘one-candidate-one-seat’ formula.
Currently, the FDE overseen by the CADD has more than 1,000 daily-wage staff members, both teaching and non-teaching, at its educational institutions in the capital. They’ve been employed by the FDE for around eight years.
