DUHS bans picnics for students, faculty, staff
Following the drowning of three final-year MBBS students, the Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) has ordered a complete ban on all sea-related and coastal activities, including picnics, for its students, faculty and staff across the university and its affiliated institutions.
According to a notification issued by DUHS Registrar Dr Ashar Afaq, in line with the directives of DUHS Vice Chancellor Dr Nazli Hussain, all heads of constituent and affiliated institutions have been strictly instructed to ensure that no such activities are organised, permitted, encouraged or facilitated in any manner.
The notification states that under no circumstances will the university provide transport for such activities, nor will it arrange or facilitate them in any form. Any violation will be treated as misconduct, and those found responsible will face disciplinary action under the applicable university rules, the notification concluded.
