Ex-member of peace body killed in Swat

MINGORA: Unidentified gunmen shot dead a former member of the village defence committee (VDC) in the Kabal tehsil of Swat on Tuesday, police officials said.
The officials said that unknown assailants opened fire on Miftahuddin in the Kando area, killing him on the spot. The attackers managed to escape after the shooting.The body was shifted to the hospital in Kabal for post-mortem examination and police registered a case against unidentified suspects. Officials said that a search operation was launched to trace and arrest the culprits. The incident has triggered fear among residents.
