A card of six for today’s Lahore races
LAHORE: The Lahore Race Club’s 8th Day Winter Meeting 2025–26 promises an exciting day of thoroughbred action this Sunday, with a six-race card featuring a mix of seasoned contenders and rising hopefuls.
The spotlight is expected to fall on Race Four and Five, both featuring Class VI and Class VII aspirants, where form, pedigree, and tactical riding will be tested over longer distances.
A competitive Class VII Division VI & VII field of 11 runners opens the day, with Shahan Shah tipped as the favourite. Good Boy and Sher Dil are expected to place, while the rest of the lineup includes Anni Power, Majesty, Bajwa Queen, Haseeb Barbarian’s, Leo Star, I Shall Lead, American Star, and Gifts of Gold.
Nine horses will contest the second Class VII Division VI race, led by Royal Stone as the favourite. Chika Rika is expected to place, while Dawood Prince is considered a fluke entry with potential. Other runners include Mr. Brown, Naveed-e-Sahar, Fazeel The Great, Silent Melody, Awan Di Shan, and Barrister.
The third Class VII Division V & V race features another nine-horse field, with Monsoon Mischief leading the betting charts. Great One is a strong place contender, while Absolutely Not could surprise. The remaining participants are Hero, Rayaan Prince, Little Master, Mr. Asia, Yes Commander, and Pocket Power. This longer-distance 1400m Class VI race is expected to be one of the day’s highlights. Perfect Again is the favourite, with Son of Sultan and Distant Music tipped for place and fluke respectively. The field also includes Brooklyn, Prodigal Rain, Luna Afzaal, and Dominus. With only five runners, this Class VII Division II & III race offers a tightly contested lineup. Sardar Bey is the favourite, followed by Haider Prince and Princess Sara as place and fluke picks. Generosity and Moni Prince complete the field.
The final Class VII Division II & III race of the day features eight runners. Mogambo is the favourite, with Haseeb Thunder and Mera Gondal expected to challenge. Other entries include Shareeka, Imperius, Luckvir, Black Magic, and Haseeb Warrior.
