Monem demands Karachi’s rightful share in resources
Politics based on vested interests, mismanagement and corruption has brought Karachi to the brink of destruction. Karachi Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Monem Zafar Khans said this while addressing a convention in Karachi. He said the JI was synonymous with public service and collective struggle and the party was striving for the establishment of a just and righteous social system.
He lamented that the entire citydhas become a hub of problems, and stated that it was the government’s responsibility to resolve the citizens’ issues such as shortage of water and power, broken roads and lack of transport facilities. Unfortunately, Khan remarked, despite having authority and resources those in power had pushed Karachi to the verge of collapse. He demanded that Karachi be given its rightful share in resources.
