Details of talks between Shehbaz, Trump yet to emerge
WASHINGTON: It will take time for the details of the topics discussed in the meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Donald Trump on September 25, as well as the positions and demands of the two coun tries, to emerge.
Both sides want to keep the media away and focus only on the photo opportunity of the meeting by adopting a strategy of silence. However, the photos and background details of the White House meeting have raised unanswered questions.
The talks were attended by President Trump, Vice President J D Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio on behalf of the United States, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir on behalf of Pakistan. Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar was not present at the meeting.
Highly reliable sources have confirmed Jang report that Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar travelled with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on his special aircraft from New York to Washington on September 25.
