Robbers in police uniform loot gold, cash in Swat

MINGORA: Armed robbers, four disguised in police uniforms and one in plain clothes, looted 230 tolas of gold and over Rs5.36m in cash from gold traders in the Tando Dag area of Swat district, officials said on Friday.
According to the FIR registered on the complaint of trader Iftikhar Khan, son of Arsala Khan, the victims were running a jewellery business under the name “Zia Jewellers” in Mingora’s Sarafa Bazaar. On Thursday night, after closing their shop, six traders were on their way to their village, Maniar, carrying gold and cash when a black double-cabin Vigo intercepted them.
