KHAR: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has distributed nearly Rs130m among verified displaced families in Bajaur, officials said on Sunday.

Acting on the special directives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, the officials said, the provincial government released Rs916 million to assist temporarily displaced persons (TDPs) affected in the region.

According to the approved relief package, each NADRA-verified displaced family is entitled to three types of assistance: a one-time subsistence allowance of Rs50,000, a ration allowance of Rs15,000, and a return cash grant of Rs25,000 upon repatriation.

PDMA officials said registration of nearly 10,000 families has been completed so far, and relief funds are being disbursed in a transparent and timely manner.

Apart from cash assistance, the PDMA has also set up facilities for displaced families at the Bajaur Sports Complex central camp, in government buildings, and in host communities. These include temporary shelters, food, clean drinking water, healthcare, and mother-and-child care services, being provided in collaboration with humanitarian partners.
