Islamabad: For the first time in history of the federal government health institutions, as many as 13 paramedics of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) have been promoted to BPS-17.

Those getting promotions with approval of Vice Chancellor Dr. Javed Akram include Joseph Paul, Tahir Hussain, Syed Basharat Shah, Safdar Khan, Shafqat Hussain, Saeedullah, Khawaja Sarfraz, Salahuddin, Zafar Ahmed, Zia Khan, Mazhar Hussain, Shahida Parveen and Turab Khan.

The Ministry of Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) has also issued a notification regarding promotion of paramedics.

However, some circles were trying to give an impression that seats belong to the Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Shaheed University. But the sources said the notification was issue with consultation of the Federal Public Service Commission which shows that the promoted employees are civil servants of the federal government.

The paramedical while expressing thanks to the management of the PIMS, have observed that the promotions were made possible due to personal interest taken by the Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Javed Akram. "We appreciate this act of kindness of Dr. Javed Akram and will continue to play our due role in provision of much better health services," they said.
