Seven die in Kurram road accident
PARACHINAR: At least seven persons were killed and two others injured when a passenger van plunged into a ravine in Gandal area in central parts of Kurram tribal district on Friday.
Police officials said the van was on its way to Sadda when the driver lost control over the steering while negotiating a turn and it fell into the gorge. “Seven persons died while two others sustained serious injuries,” said an official. The deceased were identified as Gul Wali, Niamat Khan, Haji Naseeb, Duli Khan and Riazuddin.
Due to the remoteness and rugged terrain of the area, he said, the local residents had to carry the injured on their shoulders for a considerable distance before reaching the main road. The injured were later shifted to the hospital in Sadda for medical treatment.
