Unique incident: FIA DG files intra-court appeal in IHC against 11 ACs
KARACHI: A unique event has taken place as FIA Director General Riffat Mukhtar filed an intra-court appeal in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against 11 assistant directors of his own institution.
The intra-court appeal has been filed through the Assistant Director Legal Headquarters and the Assistant Attorney General for Pakistan.
The 26-page appeal is based on the verdict in favour of 11 assistant directors of the single bench of the Islamabad High Court. All these assistant directors are posted at the headquarters in Islamabad and had challenged the quota of posting of police service officers in the institution in their petition. The director general, in his petition, has requested that the Bench may quash the single bench judgment dated February 6, 2025 as it is not maintainable. And until this appeal is heard and decided, the implementation of this decision should be stopped and if the court wants to make any other decision in this regard, it will be acceptable.
