Five killed in Mansehra, Swat road mishaps

MANSEHRA/ MINGORA: Five persons were killed in two separate road accidents in Mansehra and Swat districts on Tuesday.

A man and his wife were killed and their three-year-old son miraculously survived when their car plunged into a deep ravine in Kaghan valley in Mansehra district.“We have shifted bodies to the health facility after retrieving them from the gorge,” Raja Sajid, the SHO of Kaghan Police Station, told reporters.

The family of Mohammad Jamshad from Hazro area in Attock was on their way back to their hometown after visiting the Kaghan valley when their car fell into the ravine.The rescuers and policemen rushed to the accident scene and shifted the injured to a health facility after retrieving them from the gorge in Kaghan, where doctors referred them to the Tehsil Hospital in Balakot. The doctors pronounced Mohammad Jamshad and his wife dead, and their bodies were transported to Hazro through ambulances.

A three-year-old son of the deceased couple, whose name couldn’t be confirmed, was slightly injured in the accident even after the vehicle was completely smashed.Meanwhile, a car traveling from Buner to Swat collided with a passenger coach in Gogdarra area while trying to avoid hitting a young girl who suddenly appeared on the road. As a result, three passengers died on the spot.

The deceased have been identified as Liaqat-ur-Rehman, Yasir Khan and Fida Muhammad, all residents of District Buner. Another passenger, Khalil Zada, sustained serious injuries.Rescue 1122 teams promptly arrived at the scene, providing first aid to the injured and transferring him to Saidu Sharif Central Hospital. The bodies of the deceased were also shifted to the hospital for necessary procedures.
