MARDAN: The Qul for senior journalist and former president of Katlang Press Club, Mohammad Gul Bangash, will be held in Ghundo Shamozai today.
He had breathed his last at the Khyber Teaching Hospital Peshawar on Thursday after protracted illness. He was laid to rest in his village Ghundo Shamozai in Katlang tehsil on Friday.
The funeral prayer was largely attended by notables of the area, relatives, friends, journalists, elected representatives and government officials.
Mohammad Gul Bangash had been in the field of journalism for three decades. He was correspondent for the Peshawar Urdu daily Mashriq. He was also a Pashto poet and village elder.
The deceased was father of Shoaib Bangash and Siddique Bangash of Geo TV, Atiq Bangash and Altaf Bangash.
