Seven-member inquiry panel formed

LAHORE: A seven-member joint inquiry committee comprising railways and army officials and led by the Federal Government Inspector of Railways (FGIR) Mian M Arshad has been constituted for the investigation of the Gujranwala train accident.
According to a notification issued here on Friday, three members have been taken from the railways including PR’s Additional General Manager Mechanical Liaquat Ali Chughtai, AGM Infrastructure Hammayun Rasheed and Chief Mechanical Engineer Locomotives Majeed Baig while the other three members are from the Pakistan Army including Major General Shehzad Sikandar, Brigadier Naseem Baig and Colonel Muhammad Faheem.The Safety Branch of the Pakistan Railways headquarters, Lahore, will assist the committee in the investigation.The inquiry committee will complete its work in the minimum-possible time.
